Claim Overview

· Whether it is a motor vehicle accident, workplace injury or a slip or fall somewhere else, you are now required to

comply with very strict timeframes for the completion of specific forms and service of those forms upon the correct

person or insurance company.

· If you do not complete the correct form properly and accurately within the strict timeframe, you may lose your

right to claim compensation, even in circumstances where you may be deserving and in need.

· Once you have completed the form to the satisfaction of the person or insurance company of the person responsible

for your injuries, generally speaking, there is a period of up to six months for the investigation of the circumstances of

your claim. Once those investigations are complete the person or insurance company for the person must tell you if they

agree that they were at fault.

· Whilst the investigation process takes place, it's necessary to gather the proof or "evidence" of your loss to support your

claim for compensation. This can often take up to nine months from the date of your accident.

· Once fault or "liability" has been determined and the proof or "evidence" has been gathered, we can negotiate an out

of court settlement with the person at fault or the insurance company acting on their behalf.

· The vast majority of claims for compensation arising from injuries sustained in motor vehicle accidents, workplaces or

in slips or falls are settled "out of court"
